Forklift Coal

Forklift coal is a motor part, which performs the duty of electricity generation together with the magnets of the electric circuits in forklifts, underneath it is coal (usually called a brush, but in the industry it is called coal) and magnets with two conductive iron on it.

What is Forklift

A forklift is a construction machine that allows heavy boxes or loads to be moved from top to bottom or from bottom to top, by placing two parallel “forks” on the footrests that serve as handles at the bottom of the forklift.

Forklift Engines

Even if forklifts have manually movable Fork models, motorized ones are generally used. Those with diesel engines, gasoline engines and LPG engines are for open areas, while those with electric motors that can work with AC and DC current are for closed areas.

Forklift Coals in DC and AC Motors

These motors are motors that convert straight electrical energy into mechanical energy. DC motors are divided into brushed DC motors, geared DC motors, gearless DC motors, brushless DC motors, servo DC motors and stepper DC motors. It is brushed (coal) DC motors that interest us among them. Because brushed DC motors contain forklift coal. Forklift coal enables the magnets in the main body of the brushed DC motor to char to the coils on the shaft and create an electric current. The difference between AC motors and DC motors is that they work with alternating current. Likewise, forklift coal is used in brushed AC motors.

What Happens If Forklift Coal Doesn’t Work?

Forklift coal not working means that the magnets cannot encounter an energy that will produce the electric current. As a result, the motor does not start, if it is forced to work, the circuits may burn or the places other than the brushes may be damaged. It is not difficult to realize that the forklift coal is broken because the machine does not work. In such cases, if the warranty is still in progress, the technical service should be taken, if the warranty is over, you can show it to a motor master. If you want to install it yourself, you can order from the internet and replace the necessary parts of the motor, but this is not an easy task because there may be leakage current in some brushes or elsewhere. As a result, you may be subject to a long electric shock depending on your engine.
